When you have completed all necessary assertions, your will be able to publish your submission. Click the blue box which says “Publish Assessment” and confirm your submission. You will receive an email confirming your submission has been successful.

Headquarter’s Assessments only:

If you are completing a Headquarter’s Assessment, the page will look like this:

You can choose which of your branches should be part of your Assessment. Click on the view branches link to see which branches are related to your headquarters. You can export the list to a CSV file if it is easier to view it in a spreadsheet. E.g.

The DSPT list should reflect your CQC registrations but if the list is incorrect, please contact the Data Security and Protection Toolkit team to provide details of missing/incorrect branches and request that the ODS record is updated to match the CQC details.

It may be that you wish to publish for some of your branches straightaway, as others may not be ready, e.g. if relevant training has not yet been cascaded across the whole organisation. If the list contains branches that you don’t wish to publish for (i.e. because they are either incorrect or not ready), you can choose to exclude them at the “publish” step. It is fine to add them in at a later date, and the system allows you to do this.

When you are ready to publish for your chosen branches click the “publish assessment” button on the assessment page.

If additional sites were added by the helpdesk following your last publication, you will have the opportunity to publish on behalf of those sites by selecting them on the next screen.

The next screen will give you the opportunity to check your organisation profile is correct, and confirm the publication.

Multi-sites: Non headquarter sites

If your organisation is not flagged as a headquarter, but you previously published on behalf of other sites in your last DSPT, when you click on ‘Publish Assessment’ you will see an additional screen displayed.

This will show both sites within your CQC registration as well as any other sites you asked Exeter helpdesk to add in the previous year. This will enable you to publish on behalf of all or selected sites:

This change was introduced with the 2023/24 DSPT, allowing you to select the sites yourself. Prior to this change you would have to publish first, and then raise an enquiry with the helpdesk asking them to add the sites.

The DSPT list should include sites published via Exeter helpdesk in the last year as well as the sites in your CQC registrations. If the list is missing sites from your CQC registration, please contact the Data Security and Protection Toolkit team to provide details of missing/incorrect branches and request that the ODS record is updated to match the CQC details.

If you have sites which are not included in this list and are not included in your CQC registration then you will need to publish for the sites you can see on the list. After publishing, contact the Data Security and Protection Toolkit team to provide details of missing sites and request that the publication is shared with those missing sites.

These sites will then be included in the site list for your next DSPT submission.
