Data and tech standards

Digital and data standards are shared rules about how information and technology are designed, structured and used, so that different systems can work together in a consistent and reliable way. Data standards focus on how information is defined, recorded and shared, while technology standards set expectations for how systems are built, connect and keep information secure. In adult social care, where information is often spread across providers, local authorities and health services, these standards are becoming increasingly important.

Throughout September we will be exploring data and technology standards and the implications for adult social care.
