Speaker bios

Christopher Barber – Principal Consultant, Marr Procurement

Chris is a Procurement professional with over 12 years sourcing experience gained through working in Blue Chip FMCG companies. His Procurement career began at Britvic Soft Drinks, where he purchased advertising and marketing services, before moving into the commodities team where he was responsible for a number of raw material categories.

 As a Principal Consultant at Marr Procurement, Chris has spent the last 3 years helping a range of social care businesses deliver multiple strategic procurement programmes. Projects have included savings initiatives, organisational design reviews and procurement process improvement. Chris specialises in Category Management, ensuring a professional end to end sourcing process is applied and has extensive experience of working as part of cross-functional teams with a variety of stakeholders to deliver projects successfully. Chris is passionate about the wide range of value that Procurement can bring to organisations top and bottom lines.

Jonathan Crosland – Principal Consultant, Marr Procurement

Jonathan is a seasoned Procurement manager with over a decade’s experience in Procurement. Having worked across a large variety of categories, from HR to Fleet, Travel to IT he has a wide breadth of experience.

 His procurement journey began as an IT Project Manager, before moving into Procurement in Financial Services, negotiating with heavyweight “Big 4” Consultancies and driving the importance of specificity and contract management during times of significant change. From there Jonathan started managing Professional Services, HR, Fleet, and other areas in the Defence and Financial Services. He has managed initiatives including simplifying contract management, standardising Recruitment agreements, selecting global travel systems, driving sourcing process redesign, delivered significant savings projects and led the adoption of Procurement Practices across fractured departments. Jonathan focuses on stakeholder and project management skills to ensure projects deliver value using the mantra “do it with you, not to you”.
