Help Us Shape a New Tool for Creating BYOD Policies

Help Us Shape a New Tool for Creating BYOD Policies

May 14th 2025

The PSC, on behalf of the Better Security, Better Care programme at the Digital Care Hub, is looking to speak with adult social care staff as part of research to develop an interactive policy creation tool.

Many adult social care providers allow staff to use their own devices (such as smartphones) for work, but often struggle to establish clear policies and controls to protect cyber security and data privacy. To support providers in addressing these challenges, we are creating a tool to simplify and strengthen Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies.

Our research will take place in two phases:

Phase One:
We want to learn about your experiences with BYOD and test our assumptions about what the tool should deliver. These 45-minute conversations will take place online via MS Teams during the week of 16th – 23rd May.

Phase Two:
We will be testing the interactive tool with participants to understand how well it works in practice and gather feedback for improvements. These sessions will last 45–60 minutes and can be done either online or in person, ideally between 2nd – 20th June.

You can choose to take part in one or both phases, and there is no technical knowledge required, just your insights and experiences. There is also nothing to prepare; simply come ready to share your thoughts.
