We’re inviting adult social care providers to test Redflags® – an innovative, behaviour-driven cyber awareness tool.
Digital Care Hub has partnered with ThinkCyber to explore how this type of micro-learning can help the care sector strengthen cyber security, reduce risks, and build staff confidence.
Register your interest in becoming a pilot site as soon as possible. Testing will start in late November/early December 2025 and run for up to six weeks.
Overview
Redflags® is an innovative software solution for computers and laptop devices that applies behavioural and learning science to help people make secure decisions in real time. Through a combination of real-time prompts and very short, targeted learning modules, Redflags® supports staff to recognise and avoid risky cyber behaviours in their day-to-day work.
It supports staff through:
- Real-time nudges when risky online actions are detected – for example, clicking on a suspicious link or entering credentials into an unfamiliar site.
- Weekly micro-learning pop-ups – short, engaging lessons that reinforce good cyber habits without disrupting work and which are tailored to care providers.
- Behaviour insights – information showing how awareness and secure behaviour improve over time.
These features help reduce risk, strengthen awareness, and embed safer digital practices. Visit ThinkCyber’s website to find out more.
Staff experience
Staff who take part will receive weekly micro-learning modules — short, engaging lessons that appear as pop-ups on their device.
In addition, the Redflags® software provides real-time alerts when risky cyber behaviours are detected. For example, if a user is about to click on a link from an unfamiliar email sender, a small “red flag” will appear asking them to confirm whether they trust the source before proceeding.
What is involved in testing Redflags?
The testing phase will run for approximately 4–6 weeks from early November 2025.
We want up to 15 care providers to take part. You will receive FREE:
- Redflags® licences for use on staff computers and laptops.
- Access to micro-learning content and real-time awareness prompts.
- Support and guidance from the Digital Care Hub and ThinkCyber teams throughout the trial.
The objective of the testing phase is to gather feedback on:
- The experience of using Redflags® in care settings.
- The effectiveness of its learning approach.
- The potential value of adopting the product sector-wide.
At the end of the trial, Digital Care Hub will review the findings and consider next steps for broader implementation.
Who are we looking for
We are looking for up to 15 care provider organisations that:
- Use computer and/or laptop devices on a daily basis (Note: Redflags is not currently available to use on mobile devices)
- Want to receive free cyber security awareness training for staff using such devices.
- Are interested in improving their staff’s cyber security behaviour
- Are happy to provide feedback and attend an online focus group with the Digtial Care Hub team.
What we will ask for
At the end of the testing period, you will be asked to complete a short feedback form to share your experience, including what worked well and what could be improved.
This feedback will help Digital Care Hub and ThinkCyber assess the benefits and practicalities of introducing Redflags® into care organisations as a subscription model for cyber awareness training.
You will also take part in a short online focus session with the Digital Care Hub team.
This session will provide an opportunity to discuss experiences in more depth and explore how Redflags® supported staff in real-world situations.
Next steps
If your organisation is interested in taking part in this testing phase with Digital Care Hub, please fill in this short form.
We will contact you to discuss details and how to get you onboard.
