AI and the future of social work – one-day summit

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming how we work across every profession – and social work is no exception.

As the technology continues to advance, social workers, people with lived experience, and wider social work professionals need a voice in shaping how it’s developed and used.

Skills for Care and Social Work England are partnering together to host a free in-person AI Summit, as part of the Workforce Strategy for Adult Social Care in England.

Their focus is clear: AI should support, not replace, professional judgement. It should uphold the values and ethics at the heart of social work and help:

  • meet people’s needs more effectively and efficiently
  • improve outcomes for individuals
  • enhance workforce wellbeing.

Join them to hear from experts in this field, social work teams working across adults, children and families, and individuals using AI. Plus try out new tools and consider how AI could be used in future social work.

Building digital skills is at the heart of the Workforce Strategy for Adult Social Care in England.

Katie Thorn and Michelle Corrigan from the Digital Care Hub are contributing their expertise at the Skills for Care AI and the Future of Social Work Summit, sharing insights on how digital innovation and AI can support practical, person‑centred transformation in adult social care.
