Care providers will soon be able to access more information about local population needs and what care services your local authority wants to commission.
CQC-registered adult social care services will shortly be invited to sign up to Get Adult Social Care Data (GASCD).
GASCD is the new, free digital service from the Department of Health and Social Care for CQC-registered adult social care providers of all service types. Developed with input from providers – including sessions with the Special Interest Group hosted by Digital Care Hub – it aims to help adult social care providers and local authorities understand local demand, track trends and support planning and commissioning.
You will be able to use GASCD to:
- check data on registered care homes and home care providers
- view statistics on unpaid carers
- explore local authority funding data
- see population needs by population size, age, health indicators, disability and economic factors
Data included
CQC regulated care provision:
- care providers locations and services
- care home beds and occupancy levels
- number of adults receiving care in their own home
Non regulated care provision
- Unpaid care
Local authority data
- local authority funding for adult social care
- Market Position Statements (MPS) giving detailed information on population needs and commissioning intentions
Population needs
- dementia prevalence
- economic factors and household composition
- general health and disability
- population size and age group percentages
How to sign up for GASCD
Throughout June all nominated individuals and registered managers will receive an email from [email protected] inviting you to make an account for GASCD.
This will be sent to the address that you have registered with CQC.
The subject line will be “Free DHSC Digital Service for Adult Social Care Providers – Sign up now”.
Later in the summer, providers will be able to be delegate access to other members of their team too.
